-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-
The band LOOMING LARGER is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their song "Dick Bacon" recorded at Walls Have Ears studios in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Engineered and Produced by WAMI Award winner Bill Stace. The song originally written in 1990 by Rich Majeski (guitar, vocals) is a respectful homage to Milwaukee Legend Dick Bacon, famous for his year-round sunbathing on Milwaukee’s lakefront. Unfortunately, Mr. Bacon passed-away August 18, 2000 at the young age of 68 years. He did hear the song as originally recorded for a 4-track demo in 1991, when it was featured on WKTI and WKLH during their Morning Shows which raised awareness of Dick’s brush with the law for nude sunbathing.
The newly-recorded song will be featured at the "Who’s Done Dick?" art show at the H2O Gallery (907 South 1st Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53204) debuting as part of Gallery Night, Friday, July 27th, 2001 (through September 2nd, 2001). It is well known that Dick was active in the art community for many years, and was a nude model for scores of local art students until his untimely death last year.
The song features updated lyrics, spoken word from Mr. Bacon himself about his famous sun-reflector and philosophy on nudity, and guest didjeridoo from Tom Crawford, Station Manager of WMSE-FM in Milwaukee.
A forthcoming full-length CD release from LOOMING LARGER is targeted for early 2003.
